“The Future is Yours” – with this proclamation, organized by the Ilia Chavchavadze Center in Kachreti on December 21, over 150 participants of civil engagement project, representatives of international and local organizations discussed the growing importance of civic activism in Georgia.
“Citizen’s Role in Building a Democratic State” – at the event under this title, the Ilia Chavchavadze Center summed up the Civic Engagement Project, which was ongoing throughout the year in the regions of Georgia.
Meetings and masterclasses were held in Tbilisi, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Batumi, Rustavi, Gori and other cities within the framework of the project “Common Sense – Civil Society Facing the Politics”.
Zaza Bibilashvili, Founder of Ilia Chavchavadze Center, opened the concluding meeting. Director of the Chavchavadze Center, Nino Kalandadze, addressed the participants. Dr. Thomas Schrapel, Head of South Caucasus Bureau of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation also made a speech at the event, while the main speaker was Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to Georgia – Mr. Hubert Knirsch.
The event was also attended by the experts participating in the Civic Engagement Project of the Chavchavadze Center: David Paitchadze, Gia Nodia, Giorgi Mshvenieradze, Gia Jandieri, Korneli Kakachia, Gia Japaridze, Buba Kudava and others.
